1. What is RegDay?

RegDay is sponsored by the Adoption Registration Coalition (ARC) and is an annual event held to furnish information about the International Soundex Reunion Registry (ISRR) and to assist anyone 18 years or older in finding family lost in adoption by registering with the ISRR. Information about local search/support groups, state agencies, state laws, and other information pertaining to adoption may also be disseminated.

RegDay is held annually on the first Saturday in October.

2. What does a site look like/do?

Each RegDay site looks essentially the same whether it is in the center of a busy mall in Southern California or the lobby of the local library in Fargo. A small group of volunteers are working at a table, answering questions about the ISRR and volunteer registries, and sharing their special knowledge and experiences about adoption. Information is also available about a variety of triad resources, especially flyers from local adoption support groups and local legislative initiatives (but that information is secondary to the primary purpose of RegDay). Volunteers assist the public in filling out ISRR registration forms, but may NOT accept forms for forwarding to the ISRR. Some sites offer refreshments and encourage triad members to linger and share. Some sites have sign-up sheets for more information about local support groups. RegDay sites may NOT take place in a fee-based adoption-related place of business and FREE search resources must be presented and given precedence over any paid services referenced.

Advertisements or business cards for any for-fee services such as Private Investigator and counseling services may NOT be included on RegDay tables.

3. What is my job as Site Coordinator?

The Site Coordinator is responsible for recruiting volunteers and organizing the site. This involves networking and delegating.

4. Where can I go for help?

Many questions can be answered by thoroughly reading through this guide. Other resources include the Site Coordinator's Yahoo mailing list (a great place to share ideas or ask questions of other Site Coordinator's) or Petra B., the RegDay National Coordinator.
